I love our Fridays

Today flew by!  It started this morning with Meriam and Mamputhego coming by the house for a little while before Meriam had a doctors appointment.  She is starting to feel a little better and we are praying that the new medicine will help and she will be able to return soon.

a little play time

At 4:30 we headed to Mentz for Friday Bible study.  We stopped to pick Jankie up and then stopped by Meriam's house to get her as well as the baby, Surprise and Dineo.  We headed to Jereminah's and we were happy that we were able to meet inside her lounge today since the wind was so strong.

She wasn't so happy
2 Timothy 3:15-16 and Hebrews 4:12 were the verses. Why is God's Word important?
This was the focus for tonight's lesson.  Mark is still working through the first chapter of the Fundamentals of Faith book with them.  He feels like it is important to go slow with them so that they so they can have a better understanding of the Bible - why we need it and how to use it.  Today's lesson was almost 2 hours and the discussion and participation was great.
2 Timothy 3:15-16 ... "and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.  All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,"

Hebrews 4:12 ... "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."

Mark spent time breaking down each part of the verses and asking questions about what it was saying and how that affected their lives.

Surprise loves to go to Bible study.  Meriam even told us that she asked one of the young men who hasn't been coming the last few weeks ... "why are you not at Bible study?"
