Update

Just a quick update ...

House
After 23 days on the market we have a contract on our house. The inspection was last night and we should hear how everything went this afternoon.

We got word yesterday that the house in South Africa (See post below) we thought we might be able to buy now has a buyer in South Africa. We are completely trusting the Lord to provide a house for us in His timing. The director of Samaria Mission and his wife have looked at 4 houses this week that are for sale. We will wait and see.

Phone
My last day at work is today and this past Sunday they had my family come on the stage and they presented us with a vonage phone. This will allow friends and family to call us using a local number and we will be able to call home at the price of a local call. We are so thankful for our church family and the gift they gave us.

Car
We will not be able to take our cars with us to South Africa. We are going to sell them before we leave and use the money to buy a car in South Africa that we can use in town. We will also eventually need to buy another car that we will travel back and forth to Mozambique in. This will have to be a 4 X 4.

We talked to one of the missionaries yesterday who will be coming to the states around August. He has asked us to to buy his car, it is a VW Golf 3. We are praying through that decision. Of course pictures to follow.

Garage Sale
This Friday and Saturday our Mozambique mission team will have another garage sale to help raise money for the team this summer to come in July. We are excited to see how the Lord will use the sale to provide for the team.

T-shirt Fundraiser ...
We are selling t-shirts to raise money for our move. So far we have raised over $1300. Let us know if you would like one. Here is what they look like (the splatters will not be on the sleeve) ...

Praises ...
We have a contract on our house and we are set to close June 5th

We will be speaking at a local church in town this Sunday

Prayer Requests ...
For continued health for our family

For our monthly support to continue to come together
(If 160 people would give $25 a month then we would be fully funded.)

For our funding to come together for us to ship our household items

For the people of Mozambique, that there hearts would be open to the TRUTH

Update

We are 10 weeks out and here is the latest update ...

Our house has been on the market for 12 days. We had a young couple look at it last Wednesday and they really want to buy it. They have been approved and they told our realtor to let them know if anyone else looks at it. If they buy it they don't want to close until June 1st. Last night we had our 2nd showing and the people stayed from 7:40 to 9:00. We will see what today brings.

We also just received word from Des (the pastor who is selling the house in South Africa - scroll down for pictures) The house has still not sold and he said the potential buyer has until the end of the week to "secure a bond." He is going to send us pictures of the inside soon. We asking for the Lord's will to be done regarding this house. If it is the one we are supposed to buy then we are trusting God to work out all the details ... including the money to pay cash for it!

We are asking for you to continue to pray for us as we continue to prepare to leave. There is still so much to do!

What a Week

On Monday I took Mark and Brit to the airport for a school trip. They went through security and then they stood on the other side of the glass to wave good bye. it hit me that 12 weeks from that day we would all be standing on that side of security waving bye to friends and family. Wow!

Tuesday brought Mark's last "official" day with the police department. Wow!

Thursday I wrote a letter to my volunteers and staff informing them that my last day at the church will be April 30th and introducing the new Nursery/Preschool Coordinator to them. Wow!

Friday I emailed the letter I wrote to my staff and volunteers. We also put our house on the market. Wow!

On Friday, we also received the newsletter from one of the missionaries we will be serving with. They were sharing all that God has been doing over the last 2 months in South Africa and Mozambique. Reading the newsletter just gets me so excited for what is to come for our family.

Please continue to pray for our family.
For our health
For our home to sell
For all the details for the move to get taken care of
For us as a family and individually as we spiritually prepare
For our kids as they adjust to the reality of the move
