The Hixon family asked us to join them on a trip to Durban. We have wanted to go see the coast of Africa since moving here almost 4 years ago. They were able to find accommodation and it was very affordable to stay on the beach. Side note ... if you want to stay in great place in Amanzimtoti, which is just outside of Durban, be sure to check out this place.
Our family, including Julia, were able to stay in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo on the beach with sea view for only R395 ($43) per night ! We had a great trip! It was great to spend time with our family and with our friends before our outreach season begins. We spent lots of time on the beach and even spent one day at Ushaka Marine World.
We praise the Lord for providing for us to take this trip and for safe travels.
South Africa is beautiful! We enjoyed the drive.

What an awesome trip! The view from your place was amazing! I love to hear the sound of the waves and see the beauty of God's creation. Brit and Luke really looked great surfing. Two extremely athletic grandchildren!! Jennifer and Joseph agreed it was hard work! Now we are surprised Mark and you didn't want to give it a go! We are so excited you went on the trip with the Hixons. Can you believe you were seeing and swimming in the Indian Ocean! We loved the view of the sun and the moon over the ocean.
