Our Journey to Mozambique ... Part 6

Monday, July 28, 2008

This was our last day in the village of Chilefu. Before breakfast Sean had us sit and take turns sharing what God had done in our lives in the past week and a half. It was a sweet time together as a team. I am amazed each year how God continues to take a group of people and bind them together for one purpose and that is to share the Gospel with the people in Mozambique.

Our last day is always very busy. We took the medicine that was donated into Dindiza so the officials could get it to the hospital. We also packed up as much as we could and began taking down the supply tent, kitchen tent and a few other things.

We had out last ministry time in the afternoon. At the end of the teaching we brought the families together and took family pictures with a Polaroid camera. Then each family was given a foam frame and stickers so they could decorate it. We always enjoy this every year. It is fun to watch them get ready for their picture. It is a joy to see the looks on their faces when we give them the picture to keep. For so many this may be the only picture they have had ever had.

At the end of our day the team wanted to pray over our family and the Hixon family since we were staying for an extra week to interview. It was a special time for us to have our brothers and sisters in Christ pray for us and the journey God has us on.
