We flew out a year ago

We left the States one year ago today! We are heading into Mozambique in the morning for the beginning of our outreaches. We were hoping to have a video that Brit and Alicia put together but we were having trouble uploading it. So, check back in a few weeks and hopefully it will be up.

Please pray for us and the rest of the mission staff as we are on outreach. Please pray for the team members as well as the local village people.

What happened to the original comments??? Well, we'll tell you again!

We can't believe it has been one whole year (and now a few more weeks) since we gave you that final hug and kiss in the San Angelo airport. We stood trying to take you all in and hug you a little tighter so you could feel that love all the way to Africa as we watched you turn for the last time through the hall for the final boarding where we could no longer see you. Then we stood around outside the fence long after others had gone just to see if we could see you, one more glimpse of each of you, one more wave, and yes, one more tear (or many!!!) as we watched the plane. We just couldn't seem to leave that spot, holding onto the fence--on to you--snapping one more picture of the windows just in case you were in one of them. You see, we were secretly thinking you might get off and change your mind, yet knowing full well you wouldn't. We could see it in your eyes and hear it in your heart. And yes, we had many talks with God and we KNEW this was where you were supposed to be. We have always trusted God with you and we just couldn't stop now. You are His! Humanly, we are selfish and wanted to keep you here close to us (amazing how close 5 hours seems now!). We wanted to be with
Luke and Britnee as they grew up. Through all of our talks with
God, He gave us a peace that we cling to. He gave us the strength to let you go and KNOW HE WAS WITH YOU!!! HE would take care of you!! As we look back, we see how God had been preparing us for this very day for so long. It is truly amazing! He was constantly drawing us closer to Him! He put people in our lives long ago who would go through similar experiences just a few years before we would. We would pray with them and for their children. Little did we know God was using these times to prepare us. Isn't He amazing!!! Now it has been a whole year! We still dial the same phone number, thanks to Paul Ann, which makes you seem so much closer than Africa! Even with all the internet issues, we still can communicate with you all of the time. We often think of the missionaries and their families who didn't have the same ability to communicate with their loved ones. Thank you Lord! We have been so blessed. Even when we can't talk with you while you are with teams in Mozambique, we know we will be able to when you get back to Polokwane. Then came the phone call from Pastor Kurt. The call that truly blessed us so very much! We had the opportunity to go to Africa to see you! God's gifts are the best! Planning that trip, the trip that would bring us closer to you, to be able to actually hug each of you, and tell you in person how much we love you was a sweet, precious gift from God. How grateful we are to your church for being God's "tools" or "His hands on Earth". Being able to spend that time with you was wonderful. God used it to show us you truly were just fine and He was and is taking care of you. He gave us such a wonderful peace because now Polokwane and Mozambique are no longer the unknown but the known. There is a connection now that we didn't have before. We fell in love with the people you work with and worship with. We have seen how you go into Mozambique. That was quite a trip! We have followed your steps in preparation and have felt God with us the entire time. God has truly comforted us and given us such a peace and joy about you being there because we have experienced a small part of it too! Thank you Father!

Missing you a bunch right now and praying for you constantly as we know you are in Mozambique on Mission Trips. Yeah! Your friends from your home church in San Angelo, PaulAnn Baptist, will be there very shortly. That will be a wonderful blessing to see them all. We can hardly wait to hear all God has done in and through you, the teams, and the people you are with in Mozambique this year. HE is definitely ALIVE and desires nothing more than for His children to come to Him.
We love you all so very much!!
